Action Team: Access to Quality Healthcare

Access to quality healthcare for all; Richmond residents have access to a “health home” that supports healthy behaviors.

The Access to Quality Healthcare Action Team (AQH) is comprised of Healthy Richmond partners and key leaders that utilize collective strategies to positively impact outreach and education for residents who are eligible for Medi-Cal or Covered California. AQH focuses on campaigns that advocate for those who will remain uninsured, and have helped create county-wide solutions for residents regardless of immigration status. AQH works with policy makers, health care providers and administrators, and partners to increase opportunities to leverage resources and involve community in the effort to reach as many uninsured residents as possible and remove historic barriers to accessing care. The goal of this action team is to ensure all residents of have access to health care, and that community and systems leaders are supporting policies that create a diverse and sustainable foundation for the healthcare industry in Richmond.

Active Campaigns

#OneContraCosta is a collective effort to expand services and build power for all residents, regardless of their immigration status. The group is comprised of a coalition of partners who plan community events and communications for the campaign, including the Community Clinic Consortium, Ensuring Opportunity Campaign, Organizing for Action, United Way Bay Area, and Multi-Faith Action Coalition. The collective work of our partners resulted in the creation of a program for all of Contra Costa county called, “Contra Costa Cares” which has provided basic health services to over 3,000 residents previously uninsured due to immigration status.
